Vacation Bible School 2010! Aug 2-6

Thursday, June 10th

Yo Ho Matey!! It’s time to set sail for High Seas Expedition
Vacation Bible School 2010!

Kids go on a vast voyage through God’s Word as they participate in memorable Bible-learning activities, sing catchy songs, play teamwork-building games, dig into yummy treats, experience electrifying Bible adventures, meet Bible Memory Buddies who remind them of God’s Word, and create Bible Point crafts they’ll take home and play with all summer long. Plus, kids will learn to look for evidence of God all around them through something called God Sightings. Each day concludes at The Floating Finale—a celebration that gets everyone involved in living what they’ve learned. Family members and friends are encouraged to join in daily for this special time at 12:00 PM.

Mark your calendar for August 2-6, 2010. Volunteers are still needed for activity leaders, leadership for age group assistants, and behind the scenes preparation.

Invite your friends, neighbors and members of our community to register now! Registration is open in all Pre-K to Sixth Grade classes and nursery is available to volunteers at VBS. Youth and Junior Highs grades 7 and up and invited to register as volunteers and help bring God’s word to children of all ages.

This is the VBS you don’t want to miss! It’s all about connecting with others, learning, and having fun, of course!  Sign up today! Register online at our website

Brethren Beliefs Class September 12-November

Sunday, August 8th

Brethren Beliefs Class
A Sunday School class exploring Brethren beliefs and the Christian faith will be held in the Pastor's office Sundays from 9:45 - 10:45, September 12 through November 28. The relaxed nature of the class allows us to explore a wide variety of topics based on participants' goals and interests.
Topics often include: Introduction to Brethren theology, the Bible, Jesus, church history, local polity, Anabaptist/Pietist thought, if/how Brethren are different than other churches, and what church membership requires. Discussion will touch on a variety of issues including prayer, baptism, mission and service, sin, salvation, and others.
The class is a combination of lecture and discussion linking biblical texts with Brethren identity materials and is guided by participants' interests and pervious experience.
The class is especially appropriate for people considering membership in the Church of the Brethren and those exploring foundational elements of faith. Space is limited. Contact Pastor Chris to be part of the class or for more information.
