“Continuing the work of Jesus. Peacefully. Simply. Together.”

Join Us for Sunday Services

You’ll feel comfortable here at Oakton Church of the Brethren where our congregation is happy to welcome you. We believe that when Jesus showed us another way of living, he intended it to nourish and hearten the entire human family.

Our worship service schedule follows the typical public school year. During the school year, a variety of Sunday School classes tailored to each age group is available at Oakton Church and the worship service is held at 11:00 a.m.

Missions

Oakton Church of the Brethren strives to listen to our congregation and community, identify what is important, and take action. Take a look and see where you feel called to reach out with the love that Jesus Christ taught us. Bring that passion to the next Action / Reflection Committee meeting and we’ll serve on that mission together. Or, if you don’t see the mission you already have a passion for, bring that to the next Action / Reflection Committee meeting and we’ll work with you to learn about and support your advocacy.

Children's Ministry

Oakton Church of the Brethren is blessed with an active children’s ministry. With over 50 children from nursery to senior high, we have programs for all ages ranging from nursery care for Sunday School and Worship times, to Senior High Youth fellowship and mission events.

Welcome to Our Church

Welcome! We invite you to look around and get a feel for our church. At Oakton Church of the Brethren we strive to welcome everyone as God has welcomed us.

Brethren have historically believed in a strong community of faith. “There’s room for you at our table” and we look forward to meeting you.

Learn with us in small group settings during Sunday School and weekday study groups.

Our open-minded community encourages a thoughtful and heartfelt faith. We seek the mind of Christ together, and believe that there should be “no force in religion.”

Worship with us Sunday mornings at 11:00 a.m. There is no dress code and you won’t be asked to check your brain at the door.

Worship services incorporate the spoken word, various styles of music, and ministry to all ages including children.

Our doors are open to all sorts of people at different points in their faith journey and with diverse perspectives. Yet as One Body we strive to follow Jesus…

While we will not be worshipping in-person through (at least) April 19, 2020 a pre-recorded worship will be made on our public Facebook page (not on the private page) and on YouTube by 10:00 a.m. on Sunday.
