Jesus is Baptized

Series:
Passage: Matthew 3: 13-17
Service Type:

"We are in and not of the world- that is what we say. And to be very honest, in these last few weeks as tensions with Iran were on the rise and I listened to commentary, and back and forth dialogue or arguments about this and that, as I heard threats and excitement for potential war, as I heard pride in killing- I was reminded once again, we are so different. In the waters of baptism, we become a part of a new community, in Biblical language a new kingdom, the Kingdom of God. We claim new identity as citizens in this Kingdom and we are claimed as children of God. We have a new highest authority and we have a new lens through which we see the world, through the values that come with faith in Jesus Christ our Lord. We are different."
